the girl looked at her, "I get paid a decent wage and the food is good." she replied, taking the cover off the center plate

"Try it before judging, Katrina. Besides... you need it." I said to her more in an encouraging tone.

Thomas nodded in reply, "You do need to eat Katrina" he said to her

"Well... who doesn't wanna eat, has to stay in here longer..." I said seriously, but with a wink.
