Hearing the knock on the door I looked up and saw Danny.
"Anything I can do for you?"

I nodded.
"What is it?"

Picking up her name I looked at him in wonder and waited for him to start.

I listened closely and then sighed a little.
"So you're asking me to pull her from the case?" I asked him, actually a little surprised that Ivy didn't come to talk to me right away.

"Well, if she was a victim of that serial killer, Danny, you know I have to pull her from the case." I said seriously. "She is a good detective and scientist, but it's against protocol to work on a case if you're a victim."

Of course I noticed that there was something between Ivy and Danny and I figured that he didn't want to talk to her, because she probably would be mad at him. That was something I understood, but even then they both had to learn that what happened in here on a case was professional, not personal.
"You know, you two have to learn that talking to her about a case she shouldn't work is something that you should never take personally." I said, choosing my words wisely.

"No. It just means that if you told it was better not to work on this case anymore, she shouldn't be mad at you. it shows that you care for her." I said.

I sighed. Now it was getting a little more difficult.
"You think she's running?"

I sighed. It was a side of Ivy I wasn't used to. When I hired her she didn't seem like the avoiding kind of woman.
"Give her some time and work the case. We gotta get this serial killer this time, Danny." I said seriously. "When he's behind bars, where he belongs, try and talk to her again."

I looked up at him, noticing the look on his face.
"Either that or go after her and show her you're not backing down, nor leaving her to deal with this on her own."

"It's not always easy to deal with certain things, Danny. I don't know Ivy that well to guess why she's not talking to you, but maybe she thinks that you might think her weak for whatever reason." I said, actually not really sure about that, but it was something I thought could be the reason.

"If she does, she's making this personal, Danny and you know it's not." I told him.

"I know, Danny, but you also know that running and avoiding isn't going to help, either." I said, knowing what he meant.

"I will talk to her about this case, but I won't tell her anything you told me." I said to him.

I walked over to the lab, where ivy was now alone. I wasn't going to be mad at her, but I needed to talk to her.

I saw Mac and waved with a smile. Then I took some files from the table and went to him. "Hey, Mac!" I greeted and started to open the files.

"Hey Ivy." I said, glancing at the files. "I need to talk to you." I said after sighing a little.

"About this serial killer case you're working with Danny..." I started looking at her seriously. "I was told you were one of his victims?"

My smile faded away and I put the files back on the table. "Umm... Kinda... I mean it was this minor thing," I started.

"but he still attacked you. And you know that I have to pull you from this case." I said seriously, but actually not really wanting to indicate that I thought she wasn't doing a good job.

I almost gasped when I heard that. "Mac... Trust me, this wouldn't stop me from anything..."

"I know that, Ivy. But you also know that being emotionally involved can cloud one's judgement. Not that I am saying you're not doing a good job, but it's also against protocol." I said, still not happy about it.
