Tough Day [Thomas/Everyone]

I was in the locker room, standing in front of my opened locker door, just staring into the dark space and at my gun, which lay inside. It was late and I finally was able to leave the lab, but somehow this case got to me. My gaze turned to the small white bandage on my left wrist, which was hiding a wound, that could have ended lethal for me, if Thomas and Mac wouldn't have been around.
It was the first time that a suspect got that close to me. Actually that guy wanted to shoot me, but thankfully I was pulled away just in time and the bulled just hit my wrist and it was just a graze, but still it got me off guard.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice someone entered the room.

Thomas walked into the locker room and saw Haylen standing there, "Haylen" he called out to her gently as he walked up to her, he saw the bandage on her wrist, remembering that a bullet grazed her wrist during the last case they were on

I was a little startled when I heard Thomas calling my name and turn around to look at him.
"Hey." I said with a small smile.

Thomas smiled back to her, "Glad to be going home, lass?" he asked

"Glad I'm still able to... that's what the realistic side of me is thinking right now." I said quietly, but nodded.

Thomas nodded, "I know you will bounce back lass." he said to her in an almost fatherly tone, gently touching her arm with his hand

I looked at him for a moment, taking comfort in his words and actions.
"Comes with the territory. Just glad I wasn't on my own in there."

Thomas nodded slowly, "We will always have your back Haylen." he replied

I gave him a thankful smile.
"Just like I'll always have yours. Thanks."

Thomas nodded, "Your welcome and thank you" he replied

I nodded in reply.
"You're welcome also." I said, taking my jacket and closed my locker.
"You know... it's just a strange feeling... being trained for situations like today, but not being able to act on that."

Thomas nodded, "Aye" he replied, "I know the feeling"

I looked at him in surprise.
"Well, guess we were all beginners some day." I said with a small smirk.

Thomas nodded in reply, "That we were lass" he replied

I put my jacket on and looked down to the ground, actually a little uncertain now.
I looked back at my wrapped wrist and then up at Thomas.
"Guess I'm glad it's just a graze."

Thomas watched her, "Be glad it was just that." he replied gently

I smile a little and nod. I didn't want to even think about 'what if' but sometimes it was difficult not to.

Thomas smiled a bit, then went to his locker

"Did you hear anything from Mac?" I asked, looking at him. I was just curious if he said something to him, knowing he and Thomas were friends as well.

Thomas looked over at Haylen, "He wanted me to tell you to take the next two days off." he replied

I smiled a little.
"Guess I should go and thank him." I said, actually glad I could just get over this and start all new. "Though I'm not sure yet, what I'm going to do with my two free days." I added with a lighter tone.

Thomas smiled a bit, "You'll think of something lass" he replied

"Think I'll always find something. Just gotta keep me busy." I said and sighed a little.

Thomas nodded, "Spend time with Keven" he added, he knew how much he loved her

His words brought an instant smile to my lips.
"Well, I think that is a good idea."
