at the mall (Catherine, Stella and Haylen)

Shannon was at the mall by herself, something that she didn't do very often, not because she didn't like it, but that she never had the chance to, she was usually here with her family, so the chance to be here alone was something she was looking forward to, Shannon got to the mall just after it opened and walked around for a bit before going into one of the shops, she looked around before getting what she came for, after paying, she walked around some more and looked, seeing a familiar face at the same time

I had been working the night shift and now used the opportunity to go into the mall and see if I could find something for my hobby, just a few new paint brushes and some paint and maybe another canvas to start a new paiting some time. But first of all she needed some coffee. So she stopped by a small coffee shop that offered 'coffee to go' and waited for my coffee to arrive and looked around.

Shannon saw Haylen and walked over to her, "Haylen, how are you?" she asked when she was close enough to her

I turn and see Shannon walking toward me and smile.
"Hey. I'm fine and you? All alone this time?"

Shannon smiled, "Yes I am and I'm doing well" she replied, "How are you holding up?" she asked

"Oh, despite the fact that I just came from my nightshift I'm doing fine." I said and smiled, before I took my coffee from the clerk.

Shannon smiled, "Yet you still look great Haylen" Shannon said to her, smiling at the same time

"Thanks." I replied. "Did Tom tell you about the talking extremist?"

"Your welcome" Shannon replied, "No he didn't, what happened?" she asked

"Well, actually I was supposed to watch John Walter questioning the young man... don't get me wrong, but I felt sorry for that terrorist. John really scared him. He begged me not to let him come back inside. Can you imagine that?" I tell her, hoping to get that out of my mind. finally.

Shannon nodded as she listened, "I can" she replied as she watched Haylen

"I don't know, he seemed quite aggressive at times. Even when I got him out of the interrogation room he wasn't really talking to me in a friendly way." I said. "But I got him talking. Even got a small praise from Mac." I said with a proud smile.

Shannon nodded, "Thats great Haylen" she replied, smiling a bit herself

"Yeah, but then it's our job, right?" I said and took a sip of my coffee.

"Yes it is" Shannon replied, "You going to the Emerald Society banquet this year?" she asked

"I planned to go." I replied.

Shannon nodded, "Your going to enjoy it" she said to her

"Well, I heard that a lot of people will be there, so... will be the first time ever for me and I'm a little nervous, but I'm also looking forward to it." I admitted.

Shannon nodded, "Don't worry about that Haylen" she said to her, "Just have fun and be yourself." she added

"Always." I smiled.

Shannon smiled back, "Dare I say you would great in green?" she asked

"I hope so. Never tried a green dress before." I admitted and smiled. "thanks"

"Your welcome" Shannon replied, "If you have time I'll help you find one." she added

"I wanted to get some things anyways, so I'd like the company and opinion." I nodded.

Shannon nodded, "Lead the way lass" she said to Haylen, smiling a bit as she said that, her bag from earlier still in hand
